GLP-1 is a hormone released by the intestines in response to food to aid in glucose metabolism and satiety (feeling full after a meal). GLP-1 decreases the rate at which food empties from the stomach, which reduces calorie intake and promotes weight loss. GLP-1 medications mimick the effects of the bodies own GLP-1 to promote weight loss.
GLP-1 medications are a breakthrough in weight management. These drugs mimic natural hormones in your body to:

WeightWise RX™ is designed for maximum convenience and remote access. Once you enroll, you’ll complete an online intake (sharing your health history, medications, and weight-loss goals), have telehealth visits with our medical and coaching teams (including Aura) to develop a personalized plan, receive prescription medication (if approved) and detailed instructions, integrate wearable devices (e.g., Fitbit, Apple Watch) to track steps, heart rate, and other metrics so your care team can monitor changes in real time, and participate in regular virtual check-ins to assess progress, update goals, and address questions—all from home.
GLP-1 (Glucagon-Like Peptide-1) medications are a class of prescription drugs originally developed to help manage blood sugar in people with type 2 diabetes. They mimic the body’s natural GLP-1 hormone, helping to reduce hunger, regulate blood sugar levels, and support weight loss when combined with healthy lifestyle habits. Examples include semaglutide (Ozempic®/Wegovy®) and liraglutide (Saxenda®).
Adults who have a BMI of 30 or higher, or a BMI of 27 or higher with weight-related conditions (e.g., hypertension, type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol), may be eligible. Final eligibility is determined after a medical evaluation that ensures GLP-1 therapy is both safe and suitable for your individual needs
GLP-1 medications may not be recommended for those who have a personal or family history of certain thyroid cancers (e.g., Medullary Thyroid Carcinoma), have multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2), are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant, or have severe gastrointestinal issues or other uncontrolled medical conditions. Your Nimbus provider will review your health history to determine if GLP-1 therapy is appropriate for you.
We do not accept insurance. Our program is self-pay, and we strive to provide affordable care by working with NABP- or PCAB-accredited compounding pharmacies that use FDA-approved APIs to prepare GLP-1 medications. Costs typically include the initial consultation, any required lab work, medication fees, Aura health coaching, and ongoing medical oversight. We will give you a clear breakdown of fees once you begin enrollment, and you can check with your insurer to see if they offer any out-of-network reimbursement options.
All of our compounds use FDA-approved active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). We partner with NABP- or PCAB-accredited compounding pharmacies to ensure high-quality standards and regulatory compliance.
Our medical team may request baseline lab tests to check blood glucose levels, thyroid function, cholesterol or lipid profiles, and other markers of overall health. These labs help ensure GLP-1 therapy is safe for you and allow us to monitor your progress effectively.
Results vary, but many patients experience a 5–15% reduction in body weight over several months when combining GLP-1 medication with nutritional guidance, consistent activity, coaching support from Aura, and wearable data tracking for real-time insights. Long-term success hinges on adopting and maintaining healthy lifestyle changes in addition to medication.
If your BMI drops below 27, your provider will re-evaluate your medication and dosages, discuss whether continuing, tapering, or discontinuing GLP-1 therapy is best, and adjust your coaching plan and wearable-data targets to help you maintain a healthy weight.
WeightWise RX™ generally serves adult patients (18+). If you’re under 18, we recommend seeking pediatric-specific care and discussing options with a qualified healthcare professional.
Our WeightWise RX™ team includes board-certified physicians and nurse practitioners specializing in weight management, health coaches (through Aura) who provide personalized diet and lifestyle support, and support staff to assist with scheduling, questions, and wearable integrations.
Whenever possible, we schedule you with the same provider or coach to maintain continuity of care. If scheduling conflicts arise, another qualified team member (who has access to your health records) will handle your visit.
Nimbus follows all HIPAA regulations and industry best practices. We use secure telehealth platforms and encrypted databases, granting access only to authorized care team members involved in your treatment.
We request at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment to avoid a no-show fee. If you choose to discontinue the program, please contact our team to discuss refunds or prorated fees, which can vary depending on how long you’ve been enrolled and the services already used.
