How to use my prescription

How to use your injectible GLP-1 medication

The Nimbus WeightWise RX™ program uses compounded GLP-1 medications to help you lose weight. Your prescription will be shipped to your door. Inside the package, you will find alcohol wipes, a vial with your prescription, and an insulin syringe. Please review the dosing instructions before injecting any medication.

How to:

1. Start by washing, or sanitizing, your hands.

2. Remove the foil from the top of the vial, then use an alcohol swab to wipe the top of the vial clean.

3. Carefully insert the needle into the vial and slowly begin drawing the medication into the syringe. The prescription may flow better if you turn the bottle upside down. Note, the prescription may be thick so you might need to push it back into the vial and re-draw it into the syringe to minimize air bubbles and get the correct dose.

4. Take a new alcohol wipe and gently wipe the injection site in a ciruclar motion to sterilize and allow it to dry.

5. Confirm you have drawn the correct dosage.

6. Hold the syringe in one hand and using a motion similar to throwing a dart, insert the needle into your stomach tissue or your thigh.

7. Slowly press down the stopper until all medication has been dispensed.

8. Remove the needle, swab any blood droplets with an alcohol wipe, and you are all done!

How do I apply my personalized prescription cream?

All Nimbus prescription creams use a Topi-CLICK dispenser to make applying the correct amount of cream as easy as twisting the bottom of the container until you hear the desired number of clicks. We recommend you apply the cream to your inner thigh using the dispenser then rub it in with your forearm until it's absorbed each evening at about the same time. By using your forearm instead your fingers, you prevent the transference of the medication to anyone else. You can wash the area off in the morning if you like. Finally, we also recommend switching back and forth between your left inner thigh and right inner thigh each day to maximize effectiveness.

Step 1) Read the label and determine the number of clicks to dispense.

Step 2) Apply the cream to your thigh using the dispenser.

Step 3) Rub in any excess cream with your forearm to prevent transferring the medication to anyone else.

Hair Loss

How do I apply my Nimbus hair restoration solution?

Most hair loss products can feel greasy or difficult to apply, but at Nimbus, we remove things like PEG (polyethylene glycol) from our formulas to make our prescriptions more scalp friendly. The goal when applying the solution is to apply a 1/2 dropperful dose to the affected area(s) and rub it in. Repeat this process one more time. Two applications should equal 1ml of total medication, which should last you 30 days. Note, we ship the 30ml solution in a 60ml bottle so if your bottle looks like it's only half full, that's normal! Click here to watch a video about applying our solution.

1) Wash your hands.

2) Apply 1/2 a dropper of medication to the affected areas.

3) Repeat step 2.

4) Gently massage it into the scalp until your fingers are nearly dry.

5) Wash your hands.

How do I apply my Nimbus hair restoration foam?

With most hair loss products, they can feel greasy or difficult to apply, but at Nimbus, we remove things like PEG (polyethylene glycol) from our formulas to make the foam more scalp friendly. The goal when applying the foam is to massage it into the scalp – don’t use it like you would a styling product because that will keep the medication on the hair shafts vs. where it needs to be on your scalp. Dispense the amount of foam as indicated on the label, rub it on the fingertips of both hands, and massage it into your scalp for 30 seconds. This should feel good.

1) Wash your hands.

2) Dispense one pump of the gel onto your fingertips.

3) Gently massage it into the scalp until your fingers are nearly dry.

4) Wash your hands.

How do I use my WeightWise Rx™ prescription?

There are two different types of WeightWise Rx™ prescription. Below you'll find instructions on how to use each type of medication.

How to use your oral GLP-1 medication.

  1. Avoid eating or drinking anything 30 mins before or 30 minutes after using your prescription
  2. Use the calibrated dropper to draw the correct dose according to your prescription
  3. Place the tip of the dropper under your tongue and squeeze the dropper to release the medication - if you are using a larger dose of medication, you may want to split this up to make it easier.
  4. Leave under your tongue for 1-2 minutes
  5. Swallow what’s left of the prescription
  6. Wait 30 minutes before eating or drinking

How to use your injectable GLP-1 medication. (Please always store your medication in the original container and do not pre-draw syringes as the potency and stability can not be guaranteed if drawn into syringes and stored.)

While injecting medication can seem intimidating, our WeightWise Rx™ program uses a tiny insulin needle so you'll barely feel it. For detailed instructions, please review this handout for Semaglutide and this one for Tirzepatide or watch this video.

Step 1) Decide where to inject yourself and clean with an alcohol pad

  • The most common area to inject is in the stomach.
  • You can also inject the back of your arms or the upper leg.
  • Choose an area where you can pinch the skin to inject the medication into your fatty tissue.
  • You do not want to inject into muscle Clean the injection area with an alcohol pad.

Step 2) Lay materials out on a clean surface

  • Medication – remove from the refrigerator just before use
  • Insulin Syringe - marked in units
  • Alcohol wipes
  • Puncture-proof container (like a plastic milk carton) to dispose of the needle safely
  • Band aid (if needed)

Step 3) Prepare medication for injection

  • Double check the dose on your prescription label
  • Refer to the the table to the right as reference for dosing + units on syringe (ex. 0.25 mg = 10 units on syringe)
  • Remove lid on vial and wipe top surface clean with an alcohol pad
  • Remove cap of the syringe
  • Draw as much air into the syringe as you intend to withdraw from the medication vial
  • With the syringe held in your dominant hand, inject the air into the medication vial
  • Turn the vial upside down and pull back on the plunger "slowly" until you have reached your prescribed dosage

BEFORE INJECTING

  • Inspect the syringe for proper dosing. Air pockets or bubbles may be present. To get rid of bubbles, you may have to tap gently on the side of the syringe, or push the medication back into the vial, and then pull out your dose again*

Step 4) Inject Medication

  • Hold the syringe in your dominant hand as if you are holding a pencil or dart
  • At the clean injection site, pinch or gather skin (see photo)
  • Insert needle into skin at a 90-degree angle
  • While inserted, slowly push on the syringe plunger until all medication has been injected
  • Apply band aid (if needed)

Step 5) Discard Used Syringe

  • Cover syringe needle with cap
  • Discard in puncture-proof container and store safely for future disposal
